綱：葉状仮足をつくる。軸糸はない。
亜綱：殻をつくらない。狭義のアメーバ類。
目：多くは単核。ミトコンドリアがある。 鞭毛をもたない。
　　核分裂は mesomitotic。有性生殖は知られていない。

亜目：細胞は三角形に近い。仮足は突起状で透明。その先端部は丸みを帯びている。 移動時の hyaline lobeは分岐しない。核分裂は通常 mesomitotic。 from 「An Illustrated Guide to the Protozoa」

マヨレラ科 　Mayorellidae	細胞は三角形ないしヘラ状。先端部の丸い細い仮足の長さはほぼ一定。paranuclear body がない。 淡水と海水に棲息。
Paramoebidae科	形態は同じだが，paranuclear bodyを持つ。海産。
