綱：口部装置がある場合は、body cilia とは明瞭に区別される。 １つのparoral dikinetidと多数の polykinetidsによって構成される。 口部構造は腹側の oral cavity内、あるいは infundibulum内にある。
body ciliaは monokinetidsで前方に向かう overlapping kinetodesmal fibrilsと divergent postciliary ribbons、radial transverse ribbonsが付属する。亜綱：oral ciliaは body kinetiesの一部だが，kinetosomeは dense。oral cavityはfunnel，細胞体の繊毛は密生する。
科：oral cavityは深く，apexから離れた細胞の腹側に開いている。 細胞口（cytostome）は oral cavityが細胞内に深く入り込んでできた 管状構造の奥にある。
属：oral cavityの管状部分は左側へ伸びるのみ。
楕円形の細胞で全体に繊毛が密生している。嫌気的環境に多くみられる。monokinetid。 細胞口は腹面の前端近くに開口し，円筒状の細胞咽頭が横走して核の真上まで到達する。
