綱/亜綱：細胞分裂の際に起こる stomatogenesis の過程で口部装置は退化する (oral regression)。
アルベオラ（body alveoli） はよく発達している。口部のnematodesmata もよく発達している。 一部のグループではキルトス（cyrtos）全体がよく発達する。
突出体がある場合は、 毛胞（トリコシスト； trichocysts）をもつ。
細胞体の繊毛は monokinetidsか、もしくは dikinetidsか、もしくは polykinetids。 polykinetidsがある場合、left oral polykinetidsはわずか。

monokinetidsの場合は、kinetidsの前方に tangenitial transverse ribbons, a divergent postciliary ribbons, and forward directed kinetodesma がある。
dikinetids の場合は、forward kinetosome のみが transverse ribbonsをもつ。

目：4つ以上の kinetosomesからなるsynhymenium （合膜）が，postoral body の右側表面から背中側の左表面まで伸びる。
細胞体は円筒形のものが多い。

科：合膜は 口部域の前方左側からpreoral sutureまで伸びる。
preoral surtureの他端は合膜が伸びる右側まで？
