綱：細胞分裂の際に起こる stomatogenesis の過程で口部装置は退化する (oral regression)。
細胞体の繊毛は monokinetidsか、もしくは dikinetidsか、もしくは polykinetids。
monokinetidsの場合は、kinetidsの前方に tangenitial transverse ribbons, a divergent postciliary ribbons, and forward directed kinetodesma がある。
dikinetids の場合は、forward kinetosome のみが transverse ribbonsをもつ。
アルベオラ（body alveoli） はよく発達している。口部のnematodesmata もよく発達している。 一部のグループでは キルトス（cyrtos）全体がよく発達する。
突出体がある場合は、 毛胞（トリコシスト； trichocysts）をもつ。

ナスラ亜綱 　Nassophoria

細胞体の繊毛は monokinetidsかもしくは dikinetids（まれにpolykinetids）。 polykinetidsがある場合、left oral polykinetidsはわずか。
