綱：monokinetids が普通。各々には、a lateral kinetodesmal fibril, a reduced ( or absent ) transverse microtubular ribbon, そして postciliary ribbonが付属する。口部には放射状に 配列した microtubular ribbons（phyllae）がある。

亜綱：栄養体（trophont）は自由遊泳。 繊毛は主に腹側にある。口部域にはphyllae と棒状の nematodesmataがある。
細胞咽頭 にacmocystsと呼ばれる 突出体（extrusomes）をもつものがいる。
目：亜綱と同じ。
亜目：口部繊毛はいくつかの peri-, circum-, or preoral kineties。 大核は球状ないし卵状。 heteromerous。 上下方向に平ら。 thigmotacticに腹側の繊毛で物に付着する。 ただし，特別な接着器官はない。

科：ロリカはない。繊毛は主に腹側にあるが，例外的に小さなものが背中側先端部にある。
腹部右側にある繊毛列は，口部前方に弓状に配列し， それらは後部の繊毛列とつながっている。

属：腹側の口部の後に繊毛列がないか，繊毛のない領域がある。 細胞体は花瓶状ではない。口部域前方の繊毛列は完全。

C. cucullulus	細胞長100-300μｍ。通常は130-150μｍ。 腹側の繊毛列は19-20列。口部のバスケット構造には12の rodsがある。 また3つの preoral membraneがある。 大核は卵形。
C. uncinata	細胞長50-90μｍ。 腹側の繊毛列は11列。
C. cyprini	細胞長50-70μｍ。幅30-40μｍ。 cyprinoid類の魚のintegmentや鰓に寄生。
C. fluviatilis	細胞長50μｍ。
C. caudata	細胞長42μｍ。
C. hyalina	細胞長36-47μｍ。
C. rotunda	細胞長27-34μｍ。
