亜綱：細胞全体に繊毛がある。body ciliaは monokinetids or dikinetidsのいずれか。 口部繊毛は、右側は３つに分割された dikinetids、そして、左側は３つの polykinetids （membranelles）がある。caudal ciliaがあるのが普通。 通常，右側に paroral dikinetidが，左側に oral polykinetidsが 1-3列ある。
目：preoral sutureがあるが、postoral sutureはない。 postoral kinetiesはある。生活環が多型的。 餌の量によってmicrostomeと macrostome の２つの状態をとる。 多くは淡水性。
右側のoral dikinetidは b segmentのみ。 細胞体の繊毛は主に monokinetids，細胞先端部のみが dikinetids。 stomatogenesisは，通常，postoral kinetyの隣から始まる。科： 腹側の kinetiesの右側が左方向へ曲がる。 rarely twist abruptly forward to oral cavity
