綱：細胞分裂の際に起こる stomatogenesis の過程で口部装置は退化する (oral regression)。
アルベオラ（body alveoli） はよく発達している。口部のnematodesmata もよく発達している。 一部のグループではキルトス（cyrtos）全体がよく発達する。
突出体がある場合は、 毛胞（トリコシスト； trichocysts）をもつ。

細胞体の繊毛は monokinetidsか、もしくは dikinetidsか、もしくは polykinetids。 polykinetidsがある場合、left oral polykinetidsはわずか。
monokinetidsの場合は、kinetidsの前方に tangenitial transverse ribbons, a divergent postciliary ribbons, and forward directed kinetodesma がある。
dikinetids の場合は、forward kinetosome のみが transverse ribbonsをもつ。

目：Oral kinetidsは細胞口の左側のみにある。 中型〜小形の細胞。100μｍ以下。 body kinetidsは少ない。kinetidsは互いに離れている。 通常は３つの oral polykinetidsがある。paroral dikinetidsは右側。 cyrtosは小さい。nematodesmataの土手がある。 毛胞（トリコシスト；trichocysts）がある。 ２科のみ。

科：キルトスは細胞口部にあり，細胞体の1/2を占める。細胞口は腹部のペリクリのひだに隠れている。
