亜目： 細胞は扁平で幅広い，もしくは円盤状。周囲に透明帯がある。表層に目だった特徴はない。 locomotion of some gently eruptive（突発的に先端部ができる），核分裂は mesomitotic。

科： 移動時は卵形。 顆粒は細胞の中心部に集中し，周辺部の透明域は幅広い。 突起をもつものもいる。

属： 透明域（clear border）から仮足はできない。 移動時は，中心からやや後方に盛上がり（post-central hump）がある。 from 「An Illustrated Guide to the Protozoa」
