綱：葉状仮足をつくる。軸糸はない。
亜綱：殻をつくらない。狭義のアメーバ類。
目： 多くは単核。ミトコンドリアがある。 鞭毛をもたない。核分裂は mesomitotic。有性生殖は知られていない。

亜目： 細胞は扁平で，oblong, ovate, or flagellate，形態は安定していて，細胞表面にしわ状の隆起がみられる。 rolling movement of surface。核分裂の様式は種により様々。 from 「An Illustrated Guide to the Protozoa」

科： 細胞は小さい（＜100μｍ）。移動時は楕円形。しわは平行に走る。 from 「An Illustrated Guide to the Protozoa」
