綱：細胞の全周囲に放射状に 有軸仮足をだす。 この仮足は顆粒を含み、しばしば吻合する。 有軸仮足以外に、糸状仮足や一時的に葉状仮足を形成するものもいる。 突出体（放出体, extrusome）として， キネトシスト（kinetocyst, conicyst） をもつ。大部分は淡水性。

目：軸足の形成部位は核膜ないしはその周辺部にある。 MTOCは核膜ないし centroplastに dense plaquesを形成する。各軸足には３本ないしそれ以上の微小管がある。
１〜４本の鞭毛をもって遊泳する時期もある。細胞は裸。

アクチノモナス属 　Actinomomas	目と同じ。鞭毛は１本。
キリオフリス属 　Ciliophrys	目と同じ。鞭毛は１本。
ディモルファ属 　Dimorpha	目と同じ。鞭毛は２本。
Tetradimorpha属	目と同じ。鞭毛は４本。
