亜目： 細胞は三角形に近い。仮足は突起状で透明。その先端部は丸みを帯びている。移動時の hyaline lobeは分岐しない。 核分裂は通常 mesomitotic。
科： 細胞は三角形ないしヘラ状。先端部の丸い細い仮足の長さはほぼ一定。paranuclear body がない。淡水と海水に棲息。

属： 移動時の仮足は先端部の透明な縁からできる。 仮足基部の巾は広い。

Group I-aの特徴：
亜仮足（sub-pseudopodia）は尖っている（digitiform cones）が， 素早く動く際には消失する。
floating formsは長い尖った仮足を放射状に出す。最大長さは60μｍ以上。

M. lacona 細胞体は細長くL/B値は3かそれ以上。１対ないし数対の仮足を出す。 長さ 60-130μｍ。 仮足は尖っていて４つ程度。hyaline webにはつながっていない。 floating formは細い仮足を放射状に出す。核は 8μｍ。 M. limacis 細胞体は細長くL/B値は3かそれ以上。１対ないし数対の仮足を出す。 移動時に幅が広がると，突起状の仮足は hyaline webによってつながっている。 長さ 60-100μｍ。ウロイドは桑の実状。floating formは放射形。核は 8-9μｍ。 M. clavella 細胞体は細長くL/B値は3かそれ以上。１対ないし数対の仮足を出す。 移動時に幅が広がると，突起状の仮足は hyaline webによってつながっている。 長さ 90-140μｍ。L/B値は5.6。ウロイドには複数の小さな突起が見られる。 floating formは不定形で放射形にならない。核は 8μｍ。 M. bigemma 細胞体は幅広く，たくさんの尖った亜仮足（sub-pseudopodia）を出す。 しばしば背中に明瞭な縁ができる。 長さ 100-300μｍ。クリスタルを含む。核は 12μｍかそれ以上。 M. bulla 細胞体は幅広く，たくさんの尖った亜仮足（sub-pseudopodia）を出す。 しばしば背中に明瞭な縁ができる。 長さ 70-100μｍ。卵形か多角形。たくさんの短い仮足を出す。通常クリスタルを含まない。
