亜目：移動時の細胞は円筒状で，分岐する種としない種がいる。仮足は顆粒を含み，先端部には透明冠がみられる。 通常，核は１個だが，まれに多核のものもいる。核分裂は mesomitotic。
科：Monopodial。仮足はめったに形成されない。 先端部にふくらみがやや突発的に形成されながら移動する。 原形質流動は連続して起こる。 from 「An Illustrated Guide to the Protozoa」

属：突発的なふくらみが顕著。 移動時に hyaline capがみられる。シストは単核〜３核。

G. mira

移動時は円筒形, 細胞長 20-50 μm, 幅 5-10 μm; 仮足はない; ウロイドは knob状 (Illustrated Guide, 1985). 移動時の細胞長 20-40 μm (How to know the protozoa, 1979).
