綱：葉状仮足をつくる。軸糸はない。
亜綱：殻をつくらない。狭義のアメーバ類。
目：多くは単核。ミトコンドリアがある。 鞭毛をもたない。
　　核分裂は mesomitotic。有性生殖は知られていない。

亜目：細胞の形は三角形から trapezoidal。仮足は透明で先端部は尖っている。幅広の lobeは透明で，移動時には ときどき分岐する。シストを形成する。核分裂は mesomitotic or metamitotic。
科：細胞は扁平か，細長い。細い棘状の仮足をだす。endocystは polygonalでも stellateでもない。operculaがない。 from 「An Illustrated Guide to the Protozoa」

属：仮足は長く，たくさんある。hyaline zoneから形成される。
