細胞は扁平で，oblong, ovate, or flagellate，形態は安定していて，細胞表面にしわ状の隆起がみられる。
rolling movement of surface。核分裂の様式は種により様々。
細胞は小さい（＜50μｍ）。移動時は扇形。しわはないか，ないし，わずか。
仮足は透明で，細胞の先端部に広がった透明域から形成される。
移動時は卵形。移動方向の長さは横幅より長い。 中心部に顆粒があり，その周囲にやや厚い透明域がある。単核。
