目：殻の空所が１つ（single-champered test）。
殻は有機質か珪質。生活史では世代交代がない。

科：Pseudostomeは１つのみ。殻（Test）は扁平。

属：殻（Test）の首部に仕切り（septum）がない。収縮胞は１個のみ。
