綱：糸状の仮足をもつ。有軸仮足は形成しない。
目：細胞の周囲に殻や厚膜をつくる。明瞭な開口がある。有殻アメーバの一部。
亜目：殻は珪質の鱗片（scale）によって被われている。
科：鱗片（scale）は丸か elliptical。隣接し，薄く重なっている。

属：殻はおおよそ卵形。断面は丸ないし卵形。 pseudostomeは末端部に近い腹側にある。
鱗片は丸く規則的に配列する。

T. enchelys	細胞は長さ40-50μｍ，幅23-26μｍ。殻はpuch-shaped，先端は丸い。背中側は弓状。腹側は平らか窪む。 鱗片は楕円で互いに重なる。仮足は8-10μｍ。
