亜目：細胞は扁平で，oblong, ovate, or flagellate，形態は安定していて，細胞表面にしわ状の隆起がみられる。 rolling movement of surface。核分裂の様式は種により様々。

科：細胞は小さい（＜50μｍ）。移動時は扇形。しわはないか，ないし，わずか。

属：移動時は舌形。
