綱：細胞の全周囲に放射状に 有軸仮足をだす。 この仮足は顆粒を含み、しばしば吻合する。 有軸仮足以外に、糸状仮足や一時的に葉状仮足を形成するものもいる。 突出体（放出体, extrusome）として， キネトシスト（kinetocyst, conicyst） をもつ。大部分は淡水性。

目：軸足の形成部位は核膜ないしはその周辺部にある。 MTOC は核膜の外側にあるが，特別な構造は見られない。
Kinetocystsをもつ。有機質でできた孔の開いた殻をもつ。多くは柄をもつ。

クラスルリナ属 　Clathrulina	中空の柄をもつ。多角形の孔があいた有機質の殻（capsule）の中に近接して細胞体がある。 群体を作ることもあるが，単独でも生活する。
Hedriocystis属	柄をもつ場合は中実。柄がないこともある。小さな孔の開いた殻は透明。細胞体は小さい。
Monomastigocystis属	柄は短いか，または，持たない。殻は薄い。突き出した孔から軸足がでる。
Orbulinella属	柄はない。珪質の硬い殻をもち，孔の部分は盛り上がっている。
