バンピレラ属　Vampyrella

綱：糸状の仮足をもつ。有軸仮足は形成しない。
目：鞭毛虫期はなく、シストもつくらない。殻などの外部骨格もない。

科：細胞全体から放射状に糸状仮足（filopodia）が伸びる。仮足は融合しない（non-anastomosing）。

属：藻類に寄生する（Algophorous parasites）。細胞質は赤みがかっている。仮足の先端部は尖っていて，やわらかい。

V. lateritia	太陽虫型のとき30-40μｍ，糸状仮足は20-40μｍ。アメーバ型のとき60-100μｍ，周辺は透明。 核は不明瞭。シストは bilaminar。藻類を食べる。淡水性。
