Euglena tripteris
(Dujardin) Klebs, 1883

Euglena tripteris Species: 70-120 μm long, 12-16 μm wide; elongate; three-ridged, rounded anteriorly and drawn out posteriorly; pellicle longitudinally striated; discoid chloroplasts numerous; two rod-shaped paramylon (paramylum) bodies (Kudo, 1966). 90-100 μm long; body twisted, with three longitudinal ridges (How to know the protozoa, 1979).
Similar species --> > E. oxyuris; E. gigas


Euglena tripteris (Dujardin) Klebs 1883 ?, 188 μm long, 21 μm wide, cell body twisted, moves very slowly, eyespot present, similar to Euglena tripteris, but whithout chloroplasts and many rod-shaped paramylum bodies not two (E. tripteris), stigma ellipsoidal, 6 x 4 μm, chloroplasts small, ellipsoidal, 5 x 3 μm, x 400, x 640, Omiya, Saitama city, Saitama Pref., Japan, April 2001 by Y.
