Euglena limnophila Species: Cell body long spindle-shaped, 60-78 μm long, 10-12 μm wide, anterior attenuated, posterior tapered into a caudal projection; euglenoid movement inactive; many chloroplasts small disc-shaped without pyrenoids; locomotive flagellum about 1/2 body length; nucleus ellipsoidal, 8 x 5 μm in diam.; two types of paramylon bodies, one small bar-shaped, another 2 ring-shaped ones at both sides of the nucleus (An Illustrated Guide to Freshwater Zooplankton in Japan, 2000).
