Sphaerozosma Genus: Cell body flat, constricted at the center; semicells with two small projections at their apexes; cells connected with each other by the projections.
Species: Filaments twisted; cell body 15.4-19.6 μm long, 17-20 μm wide; semicells elongated ellipsoidal or reniform in shape, apex nearly flat; apical view elongated ellipsoidal, side view ovoid with two spiny projections on top; cell wall smooth (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
