Klebsormidium flaccidum (Kützing) S. Mattox et Blackwell (Syn. Hormidium flaccidum (Kützing) Braun): Cell body cylindrical; may slightly swells at middle of the cell; 8-12 μm long, 6-12 μm diam., a single chloroplast plate-like, extends 1/2 of the cell wall (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).

Klebsormidium klebsii (G. M. Smith) S. Mattox et Blackwell: Similar to K. flaccidum, but cell body longer; 18-25 μm long, 6-8 μm diam., a single chloroplast with a pyrenoid (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
