Species: Cell body large, (158-162)-205 μm long, (81-84)-106 μm wide, L/W=2, isthmus (25-26)-30 μm wide; semicells rectangular in shape, each consisting of 3 lobes; lateral lobes large, elongate rectangular, slightly concaved; cell wall covered with small pores (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
