Chlamydomonas Species: Cell body ovoid (slightly ellipsoidal), tapering to anterior end, posterior end rounded, 18-24 μm long, 12-22 μm wide; papilla dichotomous; flagella about two times longer than the cell body; chloroplast with several incisions forming radial lobe-like structure; a pyrenoid large, ellipsoidal or spherical, located at lateral-central or slightly posterior; stigma large, at equator or slightly anterior; sexual reproduction by isogamy (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
