Thecamoeba verrucosa
(Ehrenberg, 1838, emend Gläser, 1912)

Thecamoeba verrucosa Genus: A flattened ovoid or oblong, with longitudinal surface folds and appearance of thickened 'pellicle'; hyaloplasm a crescent at anterior end with thin extensions toward posterior end along sides; uninucleate (Page, 1976).
Species: 100-175 μm long, by 60-80 μm wide anteriorly; cornucopia-shaped; uroid more or less morulate; ectoplasm thick, margin and dorsal wrinkles, ridges; nucleus spherical to ellipsoid, elastic, ~12 μm with endosome and companion body; contractile vacuole near rear (Illustrated Guide, 1985).
