Order: Body naked; flagellate stage, with 1-4 flagella (Illustrated Guide, 1985).
Genus: Spheroid, with a single flagellum and radiating pseudopods; ordinary attached to foreign object with a cytoplasmic process, but swim freely by withdrawing it; nucleus central; several contractile vacuoles (Kudo, 1966).
