Genus: Trichome without mucous sheath; straight, long, consisting of numerous cells (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
Species: Trichome straight, without constriction at cell-cell junction, 15-20 μm wide; cell body short, 3-5 μm long, L/W=1/6-1/3; granules present along septum; terminal cells semielliptical, with thickened cell wall (Illustrations of the Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
