Pseudoprorodon Genus: Cell body asymmetrical, elongated, slightly curved; cytostome on an oval apical plate but not centrally; nematodesmata of cytopharyngeal apparatus conspicuous; dorsal brush present; macronucleus usually elongate or moniliform; cell body uniformly ciliated; peribuccal trichocysts and small toxicysts present throughout the cytoplasm; a contractile vacuole terminal and may have satellite vacuoles (Carey, 1992).
Species: Cell body like an elogate cylinder; buccal plateau distinct (Carey, 1992).
