Family: Oral area subapical, ovoid, flattened, along ventral margin of laterally compressed body; both side ciliated (Illustrated Guide, 1985).
Genus: Ventral side with a hyaline border, reaching posterior end and bearing trichocysts; dorsal side with either similar trichocyst-border or with trichocyst-warts (Kudo, 1966).

Species: Flask-shape to broad leaf-like; ventral seam with trichocysts, undulating; macronucleus moniliform (beaded); contractile vacuole terminal; 300-400 (up to 700) μm long (Kudo, 1966). 370 μm long; bluntly pointed at both ends; trichocyst warts on the dorsal surface; contractile vacuole posterior with a canal extending along the dorsal edge (Carey, 1992).
