(Klebs) Schmitz, 1884

Euglena granulata Species: Cell body fusiform (spindle-shaped), 62-95 μm long, 18-24 μm wide, euglenoid movement active; chloroplasts saucer-shaped, slightly lobed (or wavy ?), 8-14 in number, a prenoid covered with paramylon sheath located at the center; a flagellum nearly equal to or slightly longer than the cell body; nucleus spherical 8-10 μm in diam.; stigma 5 μm; many small granules present within cytoplasm (An Illustrated Guide to Freshwater Zooplankton in Japan, 2000).
