Species: Trichome blue-green, twisted or straight, not attenuated toward ends, septum constricted, rows of granules absent, easily separated into single cells, cell body 2.3-16 μm long, 2.3-4 μm wide; (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
