Opalina Genus: Relatively small nuclei, usually more than 4; nuclear chromatin reticulate; cell flattened in transverse section (Illustrated Guide, 1985). Highly flattened; multinucleate; in amphibians; numerous species (Kudo, 1966).

O. japonica Sugiyama, 1924: 190-230 μm long, 140-170 μm wide; cell body ovoid; posterior often pointed; 100-170 nuclei; ecto- and endoplasm.
