Histiona Group [ Jakobids ]: Biflagellates; flagella without hairs or scales; one held anteriorly, and the other recurrent and lying within a ventral groove (Illustrated guide, 2000).
Family: Loricate jakobids; dorsal surface of trophic cells faces the base of the lorica; ventral groobe extending the length of the cell; a prominent cytoplasmic lip defining the right side of the ventral groove (Illustrated guide, 2000).
Genus: Lorica upright (Illustrated guide, 2000).
