Collodictyon Species: Cell body variable in shape, inverted ovoid or ellipsoidal, 20-45(-70) μm long, 16-38 μm wide; anterior end broadly rounded, posteriorly tapered and divided into 2 or rarely 3 conical projections; deep or shallow furrow present along longitudinal axis of the cell; from this furrow, pseudopodia appear to take up food organisms; flagella 1 to 2 times longer than the cell body; cytoplasm vacuolated; cell surface with many granular bulges; nucleus large, located anterior-lateral many contractile vacuoles scattered (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
