Stokesiella Family: With two unequal flagella; no pellicle and plastic; with or without a delicate test; solitary or colonial; free swimming or attached (Kudo, 1966).
Genus: Cells attached by a cytoplasmic thread to a stalked vase-like lorica; two contractile vacuoles (Kudo, 1966).
