Spirostomum teres Genus: Body blunt at rear; kineties spiralled when body contracts (Illustrated Guide, 1985).
Species: 300 μm long; no expansion or attenuation of the body (?); peristome 1/2 body length; simple ovoid macronucleus; (Carey, 1992). 150-400 μm long; with one, oval macronucleus (How to know the protozoa, 1979).
