Genus: Ovoid, spindle-form or cylindrical; cytostome at anterior end in a slit; right ridge thickened and
lip-like (Kudo, 1966).
Oral apparatus apical and slit-like, the right edge of which is thickened and bears long protoplasmic
processes containing trichocysts; single macronucleus & contractile vacuole; caudal cilia present (Carey, 1992).

cytopharyngeal apparatus small; single caudal cilium; a large macronucleus in the mid-body region;

Cell body ovoid, pointed posteriorly, 40-80 μm long;
apical rfegion with cytoplasmic processes; a single caudal cilium; many vacuoles fill the cytoplasm;
a single contractile vacuole posteriorly (Carey, 1992).
