Paramecium aurelia

Paramecium aurelia octaurelia Genus: Cigar- or foot-shaped; a single macronucleus and 1 to several vesicular or compact microuclei (Kudo, 1966).
Species: 120-180 μm long; two vesicular micronuclei; two contractile vacuoles; posterior end more rounded than P. caudatum (Kudo, 1966). Ovoid or elongate in shape; both ends rounded; 80-170 μm long; an ovoid macronucleus and two micronuclei; two contractile vacuoles; caudal cilia present (Carey, 1992).
