Loxophyllum lanceolatum Genus: Ventral side with a hyaline border, reaching posterior end and bearing trichocysts; dorsal side with either similar trichocyst-border or with trichocyst-warts (Kudo, 1966).

* L. lanceolatum(Dragesco, 1954) Dragesco, 1960: Cell body lanceolate or leaf-shaped, both ends pointed; 90 μm long; a flattened band appears to be absent, but very large trichocysts line the buccal region; two macronuclei with an intercalated micronucleus; two contractile vacuoles terminal; mucocysts present between the kineties (Carey, 1992).
