Family: Oral region flat only at apex; cytostome-cytopharynx circular to ovoid.
Genus: Body long to ovoid; cilia on 1 surface (Illustrated Guide, 1985). Long, thin, cylindrical in shape (vermiform); flattened laterally; contractile; anterior is truncated with cytostome lying along the apical edge; several contractile vacuoles along the dorsal edge (Carey, 1992).
