Cothurnia Genus: Lorica attached aborally by stalk; no operculum (Illustrated Guide, 1985). Similar to Vaginicola, but lorica stands on a short stalk; fresh or salt water (Kudo, 1966).
Species: Lorica about 50 μm (Illustrated Guide, 1985).
