C. umbellaria Linnaeus, 1767: Cell body 130-250 μm long (Kudo, 1966). Cell body bell-shaped; 200-260 μm long, 100 μm wide; oral cilia 4-6 turns around peristome; pellicle striated; cytopharynx 1/2 of cell length; contractile vacuole near peristome; macronucleus horseshoe-shaped (Gensei-Doubutu Zukan, 1981).
