Spirogyra Genus: Filament without branching; cell body cylindrical; one or several chloroplasts band-shaped, spirally arranged within the cell, pyrenoids present; septum with or without folded structure (Guide book to the "Photomicrographs of the Freshwater Algae", 1998).
