Pyrobotrys Species: Colony of 4 or 8 cells; "chaplet" structure not obvious, cells radially arrange; cell body anteriorly rounded, posteriorly elongated and tapered, 10-32 μm long, 8-10 μm wide; cellwall thin; papilla absent; chloroplast filling posterior end; stigma elliptical, anterior; two contractile vacuoles apical (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
