Netrium oblongum Species [ var. oblongum ]: Cell body cylindrical ellipsoid, both ends broadly rounded; laminae of chloroplasts deeply dented showing circular depressions; 108-148 μm long, 27-39 μm wide, L/W=3-4.
[ var. cylindricum W. et G.S. West ]: Smaller than var. oblongum; 60-90 μm long, 17-25 μm wide (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
