Klebsormidium nitens Family: Chloroplasts plate-like or ribbon-like; sexual reproduction by isogamy.
Genus: Without gelatinous sheath; filaments consist of many cells; no rhizoid (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).

Species: Cell body similar to K. flaccidum, but cell body longer; 18-25 μm long, 6-8 μm diam., a single chloroplast with a pyrenoid (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
