or 16 or 64 cells; colony of 32 cells consisting by a stacking of 5 chaplets
(4 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 4); vegetative cells spherical or nearly spherical, with equal sizes,
12-24 μm in diam.; papilla absent; chloroplast cup-shaped, sometimes
radially striated; number of pyrenoids up to 5 (young cells with only one); stigma conspicuous
