Subgenus: Entomum (Apical area deeply indented or notched)
Section: Excisa (Cell surface granulated or dented; apical area with spiny projections)

Species: Cell body 36-43 μm long, 27-28 μm wide, L/W=1.3, constriction 8-9 μm wide (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
