Cosmarium subrectangulare Species: Cell body 31-33.6 μm long, 27-28 μm wide, isthmus 7-8 μm wide; semicells hexagonal in shape, central width larger than basal & apical ones; apex flat with slightly swelled corners; apical view more or less diamond-shaped, with central bulges on both sides (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
